Royal Academy of Engineering’s research forum 2016

Yesterday, I had the great pleasure to attend to the Academy’s annual research forum. The event was organised in the beautiful Royal College of Surgeons in London.

I discovered the work of Matt Hall on transport in porous solids, Tawfique Hasan on composite inks, and Sophie Williams on hip joint prosthesis. I have also had the pleasure to listen to a talk on aircraft aeroelasticity by Jonathan Cooper, my colleague at Bristol. Jonathan and I are planning to collaborate on different projects, including the investigation of the nonlinear dynamics of a 6m-long aircraft wing designed in collaboration with Airbus.
